Stephen Weinstein

Stephen H. Weinstein is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer of RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd.  As RenaissanceRe’s Chief Legal Officer, Mr Weinstein manages the Company’s legal, regulatory and compliance needs and team on a worldwide basis.  Mr Weinstein’s areas of expertise include: Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; corporate governance and regulatory compliance; securities law and disclosure issues; mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances; technology licensing and commercial transactions; corporate compliance and other day-to-day operational issues.

Mr Weinstein joined RenaissanceRe in 2002 from Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, a leading international law firm, where he was active in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and other corporate transactions, and counseled several well-known insurance and financial services companies.

Mr Weinstein earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School, where he was elected Class Marshall.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in New York, New York, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Mr Weinstein is a Member of the American, New York State and District of Columbia Bar Associations.  He is a member of several other professional and industry associations, and is a frequent speaker and panelist on corporate legal trends and issues.
