Jesse Dunbar
Jesse Dunbar is the Assistant General Counsel for the Aspen Insurance Group. He counsels Aspen’s reinsurance and insurance companies in the US, in addition to working across global lines on international insurance and reinsurance matters. He is part of the Aspen Re global legal team based in London, Bermuda, and the US (Boston and Rocky Hill, CT). Before joining Aspen Re last year, he was in private practice in New York for 13 years. While in private practice, he represented US and foreign insurance and reinsurance companies as well as corporate clients on a wide variety of legal issues, including mediation, arbitration and litigation matters. He is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and the American University School of International Service. Before attending law school, he conducted economic and financial diplomacy for the United States in Europe and the Middle East on behalf of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs of the United States Department of the Treasury in Washington. He is the author of several published articles on insurance law, including an explanatory article on the innocent co-insured doctrine published in the American Bar Journal. He has also been a speaker on property and director’s and officers’ insurance coverage law at a conference in New York sponsored by the Intermediaries and Reinsurance Underwriters Association.
